The most important thing about the spiritual economy is the idea of cooperation. There will
be an "agreement" which everyone will sign when they get their account which will clearly state:
"All credits are worthless. I understand that I have no right to expect anything from anyone
for any reason. Transactions are a record of my trust in others and their trust in me. The
spiritual economy operates entirely on cooperation. I agree that I will cooperate with others
and behave in a virtuous manner at all times ( treat others the way you want to be treated. )"
This is the big idea. Money, as it currently exists, is based on expectation and control,
domination and surrender. The essential nature of money is "artificial scarcity" which means
someone withholds something that you need, even though they have it and could give it to you,
until you give them money. This is an everyday occurrence. We are living in "poverty consciousness"
because we are afraid our needs will not be met unless we have money. The spiritual economy
says we can live in abundance, the natural state of the universe, once we are willing to share
our resources, including our time, energy and love, based on an enlightened understanding of
what is "right and necessary." This is the essential basis of virtuous living and why I call it
the "spiritual economy." It encourages the right things, like trust, love, compassion, forgiveness,
kindness, generosity, and so forth.
Now as far as how it will work in reality, I think we will have many options about how to "play"
in the spiritual economy. For example, if I were to come and stay with you in Bucharest some
day in the future, I might give you some of my credits ( which I create out of thin air ) as an
expression of my thankfulness ( a virtue ). You might simply hold them in your account until
someone who wants some of my credits, to approach me with a request for my time, services,
or products, makes an offer to you. At that time you might receive a gift from that person of
something you need. Credits in the spiritual economy are a way of extending the usefulness
of gifts beyond oneself and beyond the present moment. Transactions are a record of
relationships, which is the real "gold" of the spiritual economy. Every time you transfer
credits to someone you can rate them on how "satisfied" you were with the experience of
their credits. This becomes a permanent part of your "credit history" which can be used
by others to decide whether your credits have value. The objective is to get good credit
ratings from people who have a lot of respect in the Spiritual Economy, or simply those
who you wish to deal with in the future.
The key difference between money and spiritual economy credits is relationships. Money
doesn't care about the quality of your relationships, only the quantity of money. In the
spiritual economy it is the quality of your relationships which matters rather than the
quantity of credits. You can create any number of credits any time you want; how satisfied
are people with the experience of your credits? Do you satisfy people? Do you have
positive relationships?
The technical process I'm working on involves to database tables, one for recording
every transaction ( journal ) and the other for a "currently active credits." (account)
Credits will get put into the "ACCOUNT" table once consensus is achieved on the transaction.
That means that when you give me credits there is a record of the transaction in your journal table,
but they don't appear in my account table until I accept them. This is the basis of the
security of the system. An email is sent with a confirmation link on every transaction.
You can give credits to people but unless they accept them there is no actual
wealth created. Transfers work the same way; both parties must "accept" the transfer
before the credits appear.
amuzant, nu? mi se pare un subiect funny de discutie si as fi curios sa aflu si parerile altora despre "economia spirituala"
