Not really. They're even closer. The official language of Moldova is Romania. There's also a Moldavian dialect spoken in Moldavia and in Moldova, but it is almost similar to Romanian. The only difference is the accent and few expressions.

As the posted translation are correct, a translation is to put some words and expressions in a language into another language. A good translation must understand what means the expressions in the original language and say the same expression in the language we want to translate. We cannot say in Spain "soy un haiduc" because nobody will understand what are you meaning, instead you must say "soy un caballero/bandolero". Of course it will lose some of the original meaning, but this is one of the difficult tasks in translation. (How can one translate the words-jokes of Monty Python??? Do we leave the form of the joke? Or do we change the form to don't lose what are they wanting to say?)

Here I post a translation in my language, the Catalan, I've made following some criteria I read in a translation book. Of course there will be mistakes. With this one, it's the 4th time it's been posted a translation in this language.

Yes, "love under the lindeeth tree" is more poetical... well... we could leave it on the title of the song, but I'd put "the first love" in the text of the song.
