One of those games, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance captured the hearts of PS2 gamers like few others. The top-down dungeon hack steeped in D&D lore was great as a single player title, but perhaps even better as a two-player co-op game. Within a year, IGN readers consistently poured in letters querying us about the newest, coolest co-op games, and if another Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance would come any time soon. While Interplay will publish Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II next week, Sony Online Entertainment is hell-bent on stealing its thunder with the real spiritual successor to that first great PS2 action-RPG. They call it Champions of Norrath: Realms of Everquest.
